As the season draws to a close, the Waldbad is changing its hours of operation
Starting August 31, the pool will close at 6:30 p.m. Stadtwerke Günzburg reports very positive results for the outdoor swimming season.
At our popular Waldbad, the opening hours will be adjusted to reflect the changing temperatures in just a few days. Lothar Böck, CEO of Stadtwerke, is already giving a positive assessment of this year’s swimming season.
Starting Monday, August 31, the pool will be open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., closing 90 minutes earlier than during the summer. “It’s now noticeably cooler in the evening, and most guests leave the Waldbad by 6:30 p.m.,” says Lothar Böck, explaining this change. The end of this year’s swimming season has also been set. On Sunday, September 13, the Waldbad will be open to swimmers for the last time.
Just a few weeks before the last day of operation, Lothar Böck is already calling the 2026 season at the Günzburg Waldbad a great success. Approximately 120,000 guests visited the outdoor pool—significantly more than last year. Particularly encouraging: The swimming season was not only successful in terms of numbers but also peaceful and safe. Thanks to the attentive work of the staff and the considerate guests, there were no notable incidents or serious accidents during the season. “We had an exceptionally hot summer, during which many people sought relief from the heat at our Waldbad,” says Lothar Böck. He extends his thanks to the entire team for their tireless efforts and to the guests for their visits.
